Scanning quality and lighting

Hold your phone steady and use good, even light. Avoid glare, heavy shadows, and steep angles — the label's text and symbols need to be clearly legible in the photo for the scan to work.

Fill the frame with the label itself. A blurry or partially cropped photo is the most common reason a scan comes back incomplete.

Care-label scanning is available on every plan — guest, free, and Premium accounts all share the same 200-scan-per-calendar-month ceiling.
Premium doesn't raise this limit. It removes ads and lifts the wardrobe, wash-cycle, and stain-guide limits instead — see Rewarded ads and ad-free Premium below.

Camera and photo-library permissions

The first time you scan a label or add a photo, Laundry Master asks your device for camera or photo-library access. On iPhone and iPad, the system shows this exact reason before asking:

Photos “This app needs photo library access to select photos of your clothing and care labels.”

Android is different: the app declares no camera permission at all. Taking a photo opens your device's own Camera app, which handles its own permission — Laundry Master never shows its own in-app camera prompt on Android. There's no Android equivalent of the iOS text above to compare it to, because the app itself never asks.
If you said no on iPhone or iPad by mistake, turn access back on any time from your device's Settings app, under this app's own permissions — it can't be re-requested from inside the app once denied.

Internet and offline behavior

Laundry Master draws a clear line between reading and writing. Your saved wardrobe and its care instructions stay readable without a connection.

Scanning a label, getting stain guidance, AI wash advice, and saving or editing a wardrobe item all need the internet, because each of those sends something to our AI service.

Account linking and guest use

You can use the app right away as a guest — no sign-up required. A guest account has lower limits than a free account (2 wardrobe items, 1 wash cycle, and 1 stain-guide session, all lifetime totals, not monthly) and its data is real, synced data tied to that anonymous account — not just a local draft.

From Profile, you can link a guest account to an email/password, Google, or Apple sign-in at any time without losing anything you've already added. Once linked, your wardrobe, wash history, and settings carry over, and you get the free tier's higher limits: 10 wardrobe items (extendable with rewarded ads up to 200 total), plus 2 wash cycles and 1 stain-guide session per month.

Subscription purchase, trial, cancellation, and restore

Going Premium starts with a free trial through the App Store or Google Play. The exact trial length and price for your region are shown before you confirm, in your device's own purchase screen — not on this website.

Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. Cancel any time from your device's own subscription settings (Settings > your name > Subscriptions on iPhone; the Play Store app's Subscriptions page on Android) at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid the next charge.

Reinstalled the app or switched devices? Use Restore Purchases in Profile to reconnect an active subscription — this doesn't create a new purchase.

We don't process payments ourselves. Apple and Google handle billing, and refunds go through their support, not ours.

Rewarded ads and ad-free Premium

The free tier shows both rewarded and interstitial ads. Watching a rewarded ad temporarily raises your wardrobe limit (up to 200 items total); interstitial ads appear between certain actions and don't unlock anything.

Premium removes both ad types and lifts the wardrobe, wash-cycle, and stain-guide-session limits. It does not change care-label scanning — that stays available to everyone at the same monthly ceiling described above.

Location-based drying suggestions

If you allow location access, Laundry Master uses it for exactly one thing:

Location access is optional. Without it, every other feature still works — you'll just check the weather yourself before hanging laundry out to dry.

Notifications

Laundry Master can notify you when a wash or drying cycle finishes, remind you to move laundry out of the machine before it wrinkles, and nudge you about clothes that haven't been washed in a while.

You can turn each of these on or off separately from Notification Settings in the app, and grant or revoke the underlying system permission from your device's own Settings at any time.

Data export

You can download a copy of your data from Profile → Privacy & Security → Your Data → Export Data ("Download a copy of all your data").

Account deletion

Deletion has its own dedicated page with the exact in-app steps for password, Google, and Apple sign-in accounts, plus honest notes on two real gaps today: guest accounts and Apple accounts on Android.
